Act of God’s faith-based music ranges in style from Power Ballad to Pop/Rock to Country to Jazz to Latin. “Many people have told me their favorite song is from the Act of God show,” says John Lindsay, Writer/Executive Producer of Act of God. “The amazing thing is when I ask them which one’s their favorite, I get a different answer every time.”
Act of God was engineered at Branson-based Citywalk Studios under the direction of Mark Owen, executive producer and graduate of Berklee College of Music. “I couldn’t have asked for a more talented and devoted pianist and arranger,” says Lindsay. “Equally gifted was his team of highly versatile musicians.”
Most people think of Act of God as Christian comedy and drama, “It’s more than that,” says Lindsay, “When you look at what goes into a full length show, It’s hard to say where the time goes over a period of three years in preproduction, but the music in no way took a back seat. Each song went through two years of rewrites, two arrangers, was copyrighted, recorded, engineered, registered, reformatted and downloaded to the distributor along with the CD’s art design. Considering the number of people involved and the amount of hours invested, every time I think a song goes for $.99, I can’t help but think I may be in the wrong business.”
On behalf of the Act of God show and ministry, Mr. Lindsay would like to thank the Ozarks Christian News and Citywalk Studios for their generosity through the gifts of their valuable time, talent and resources. A special thank you also goes to those who are doing their part in putting a stop to audio/video piracy.
“It’s wonderful to see a vision realized”, says Lindsay, “but there’s an unexplainable satisfaction when a team of individuals comes together and exceeds every expectation. To God be the glory for inspiration, talent, and keeping us focused on souls rather than selves.”
